Message from the President

"Our ice rink is still open!"

Just when we thought we were saying goodbye to Memorial City Ice Rink, we received wonderful news: the rink will remain open through December 14!

I don't think anyone expected this gift of a few extra months, and our skating community couldn't be more grateful. While we know the longer-term future of the facility remains uncertain, this extension gives us something priceless—more time together, more opportunities to train, compete, perform, and make memories in the place so many of us have called home for years. Thank you to all of our members who participated in Save the Rink efforts, spoke in front of Houston City Council, Memorial Management District, TIRZ17, Super Neighborhood meetings, and those involved in the Houston Ice Sports Coalition who continue to talk about our community to anyone willing to listen--even an Elite MMA podcaster!

And that means we get to perform one more Nutcracker on Ice! For many families, Nutcracker isn't simply a skating show. It is a holiday tradition, a rite of passage, and a celebration of everything that makes our club special. Generations of MFSCH skaters have taken the ice each December, from first-time beginners in rental skates to graduating seniors returning for one last bow. We are incredibly thankful that we'll have one more opportunity to share this tradition with our community.

Our skaters continue to inspire us every day. Congratulations to all of our MFSCH athletes who competed at the 2026 Excel National Festival and Final. As we celebrate their accomplishments, we also look ahead with excitement as our National Qualifying Series skaters begin another competitive season. Finally, congratulations to Isaac Fulton on being selected to represent the United States internationally as a member of Team USA. We are incredibly proud of all of our athletes and the dedication, sportsmanship, and excellence they continue to demonstrate both on and off the ice. 

Thank you for renewing your memberships, volunteering your time, supporting one another, and continuing to believe in this remarkable club. A rink is where we skate, but a club is where friendships are built and memories are made.
