Welcome to Flood Intelligence Research Lab
The Flood Intelligence Research Lab is dedicated to advancing flood science and strengthening flood resilience in a changing climate. Our research focuses on understanding, modeling, and predicting a wide range of flood processes through the integration of physics-based approaches, data-driven methods, and artificial intelligence.
We develop innovative tools to investigate different types of flooding and their associated processes, with particular attention to the complex and cascading mechanisms that drive flood impacts across urban, riverine, and coastal environments. Our work spans flood modeling and prediction, extreme rainfall analysis, urban stormwater systems, blue-green infrastructure, river restoration, and river and coastal hydraulics.
By combining fundamental flood science with emerging AI techniques, we aim to improve flood forecasting, support risk-informed decision-making, and contribute to sustainable solutions for climate adaptation. Ultimately, our goal is to enhance resilience to flood hazards and help communities better prepare for evolving hydrological extremes.
We recruit PhDs and Postdocs from cross-disciplinary areas such as Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Geography, Computer Science, and more.
