Thank you for visiting our virtual exhibit! We hope you enjoyed it!
Manufacturing Day recognizes the importance of manufacturing to our economy and showcases the many ways that workers are contributing to our communities through production of a variety of goods and merchandise. As seen in this exhibit, manufacturing has a long history and retains its ability to change and expand as needs demand. Some workers in manufacturing are utilizing the skills they learned through their trade school and technological education while others pursue college degrees as their way to accumulate knowledge and apply that in manufacturing jobs. Manufacturing has been with us and continues to remain relevant in the future.
We want to thank those who contributed to our Manufacturing Day virtual exhibit:
Dr. Jason Walker, Assistant Professor, and Dr. Darrell Wallace, Associate Professor, from the YSU College of STEM (Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering Program); Vallourec S.A.; McDonald Steel; and Micah Tindor from Rugged 3D for providing us with our information and images.
The exhibit was created by Graduate Interns Brooke Bobovnyik, Jonathan Cambouris, and Hannah Klacik of the YSU History Program (Department of Humanities and Social Sciences), along with AmeriCorps Ohio History Service Corps Member, Kayla Metzger. It was supervised by Dr. Thomas Leary, YSU Associate Professor of History, and Dr. Marcelle Wilson, Site Manager of the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor.
