Morgan serves in the military. Several years ago at a live-fire training event, he witnessed a freak accident where a ricochet struck a service member. The service member was critically injured but survived thanks to the immediate lifesaving care provided on-site by medics, who each used their issued IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit). Watching the medics employing their training & equipment made a lasting impact. As a concealed carrier, this experience drove home to Morgan the need for a basic level of first aid training combined with a minimalist trauma kit for everyday carry. He studied first aid and started looking for a miniature IFAK he could conceal on his person. There was not one to be had!
Being a mechanical engineer with a new 3-D printer sitting in the basement, he of course made himself what he wanted: a minimalist trauma kit housing that fit into his spare pistol magazine pouch. From there he researched and acquired the contents and began using this kit for everyday carry. Since then, Morgan has been continuously refining the design, calling it his MFAK (Magazine First Aid Kit).
One day he was admiring his work and said nonchalantly to Anna Lisa, “if I wanted to buy one of these, wouldn’t other people want to buy one? It would be cool to make a product out of this.” Anna Lisa replied, “well, I have an MBA with an entrepreneurship focus, let’s do it!” And off they ran.
