MEYFH is a member program in the Baystate Youth Field Hockey League. Teams practice during the week and play teams from all over the Northshore. This program, organized by Manchester Parks & Rec, is welcome to all levels.

1st/2nd Grade
Learn the fundamentals, make new friends, and discover a love for the game! Designed for our youngest players, this program focuses on developing coordination, introducing basic skills, and building confidence with a stick in hand.

Games Sundays dictated by league (home at Brook st turf). 7v7 on a smaller field

3rd/4th Grade
Grow your skills, build confidence, and enjoy the game with your teammates! Players in this group will strengthen their fundamental field hockey skills, including dribbling, passing, and receiving, while learning how to use them in game situations.

5th/6th Grade
Elevate your field hockey skills with a focus on technique, strategy, and game play. Players will build on their ball control, spacing, and tactical decision-making through competitive drills and game scenarios. The goal is to help athletes play with confidence and prepare for the middle school level.
Practices 4:30-5:30, Tuesdays @ Pine Street Field & Thursdays @ Masconomo field starting September 1 ending November 5
Games Sundays dictated by league (home at Brook st turf) 11v11 full field
$225/player
Equipment Needed: Outdoor field hockey stick, mouth guard, cleats/sneakers, goggles, shin guards (either reversible or black/white socks), & water.
Reversible pinnies are included in the registration fee. Players should wear pinnies to all games and practices.
Volunteer parent coaches are needed for each team. Parent coaches will be provided with practice plans and home-game support. We greatly appreciate your willingness to coach, as we couldn't run without you! No experience necessary.
Team Assignments: When registration is closed, players will be grouped into teams. To maximize playing time, we have goal roster sizes:
Grades 1-4: 10-12 players
Grades 5/6: 14-16 players
Late registrants will only be accepted if there is space on a team. Otherwise, a waitlist will be formed.
Arrive to the field 15-20 minutes early to find your team and warm up.
Playing time is based on a play-to-learn format. Coaches will try their best to provide equal playing time for all players. There can be considerations should numerous practices be missed or there are other unforeseen circumstances during a game, but players should expect close to equal time on the field.
Be positive and supportive of all players on the field!
Communicate early: If your player can't make it, please let your coach know at least 12 hours in advance so we can plan accordingly.
Per Baystate rules, the HOME team wears dark colored game jersey and dark socks while VISITING team wears white/light colored game jersey and white socks.
