Parent / Carer Code of Conduct
The Mexborough Rangers Parents/Carers Code Of Conduct is designed to provide clear guidelines and expectations to all our parents/carers. It has been established to show the vision and direction of The Club.
Our Code of Conduct covers eight key principles:
1) Respect and Courtesy
2) Support and Encouragement
3) Safety and Well-being
4) Fair Play and Integrity
5) Participation and Involvement
6) Communication and Conflict Resolution
7) Commitment and Responsibility
8) Role Model Behaviour
1. Respect and Courtesy
1.1 Respect for All: Treat all players, parents, coaches, referees and staff members with respect, regardless of race, gender, religion, or background and in accordance with the protected characteristics of the Equality Act (2010).
1.2 Positive Communication: Use positive, respectful language when communicating with others. Avoid using profanity or any form of derogatory speech.
2. Support and Encouragement
2.1 Supportive Behaviour: Encourage and support your players participation and efforts. Focus on their enjoyment and personal growth rather than solely on winning or outcomes.
2.2 Constructive Feedback: Offer constructive feedback and praise your player and others for their hard work and achievements.
3. Safety and Well-being
3.1 Safety First: Prioritise the safety and well-being of all players. Report any concerns or issues as soon as possible to the Club.
3.2 Healthy Environment: Promote a healthy environment by ensuring a player gets adequate rest, nutrition, and care.
4. Fair Play and Integrity
4.1 Fair Play: Encourage fair play and sporting behaviour. Teach your player to play by the rules and respect any decisions provided by any officials.
4.2 Integrity: Uphold the integrity The Club or event. Avoid any actions that could be construed as dishonest or unethical.
5. Participation and Involvement
5.1 Active Participation: Participate in meetings, events, and activities as required. Support The Club by volunteering or contributing in any way you can.
5.2 Timeliness: Ensure your player arrives on time for events, practices, and games. Pick up your player promptly at the end of the activity.
6. Communication and Conflict Resolution
6.1 Open Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with coaches and those associated with The Club. Address any concerns or questions directly and respectfully.
6.2 Conflict Resolution: Resolve conflicts calmly and constructively. If issues arise, follow the appropriate channels for addressing and resolving them.
7. Commitment and Responsibility
7.1 Commitment: Encourage your player to honour their commitments and responsibilities. Teach them the value of dedication and hard work.
7.2 Responsibility: Ensure that your player comes prepared for activities with the necessary equipment and attire. Support their organisational skills and independence.
8. Role Model Behaviour
8.1 Role Model: Set a positive example for your player and others by demonstrating good behaviour, sportsmanship, and respect for the rules and people involved.
8.2 Representative: To act as a representative for the club at any event home or away. To promote the expected behaviours and attitudes of all members.
8.3 Off field: The expectation of The Club is that the values and standards are maintained at all times. This includes, but is not limited to off field events, activities
What if something happens?
Any reports to The Club or the local FA, will result in an internal investigation being held. This may require statements to be obtained or accessing any evidence such as videos or photos which have been captured. Depending on the nature of the issue, the FA may conduct their own investigation which as a club we would support.
The outcome from which will be documented and shared with all stakeholders. The result of which could be, but is not limited to one or various of the below:
· The issuing of a verbal warning
· The issuing of a written warning
· De-registration of your player from The Club
· The issuing of a financial fine from the County FA, which will need to be paid for by the parent/carer involved
· A fixed timescale ban from attending home and away fixtures
· Completion of specific training
