National Federation rules will be applied. Diving will not take place during meets in pools that have a depth of less than ten (10) feet. Metro West school not meeting the recommended depth of ten (10) feet is St. Louis Park. Pool depths for schools are as follows::

*BSM will swim at St. Louis Park Junior High and dive at Plymouth Lifetime (12 feet in depth).
**Jefferson will dive at Oak Grove Middle school.
National Federation rules regarding scoring at meets held in pools that do not meet the recommended depth will be followed.
"Rule 9-1. Diving pool water depth:
Schools which do not have adequate facilities for diving must notify opponents in
writing at least two (2) weeks prior to the FIRST home meet, then diving will not be conducted and no points awarded. When written notice is not provided, the visiting team shall be awarded points in proportion to their number of entries and the host team will not score. When the host school's facility is adequate, even if the opponents have eliminated diving, diving will be conducted and points will be awarded.
SCHEDULING
A single round robin will be used with teams alternating home/away sites each year and scheduling moving forward one week in the rotation. The scheduling procedure is to be reviewed every two years.
The season will consist of 7 (Girls) and 5 (Boys) dual meets.
Conference dual meets will begin at 6:00 pm, unless changed by mutual consent. Exception: Jefferson diving will start at 5:00 PM at Oak Grove Middle School.
A Junior Varsity championship meet will be scheduled the Saturday following the last dual meet of the conference season. Diving will begin at 11:00AM and swimming will begin at 1:00PM. Admission will be charged to help cover meet expenses.

Swimming
A copy of these policies is to be available at the host site during each meet.
Diving
Each team will be allowed a maximum of 36 dives per meet.
JV divers will dive first, followed by Varsity divers.
Contestants may swim in one Varsity event and one "JV" event if they are not the same event.
Exhibition swimming may take place with mutual consent of head coaches prior to the date of the meet. Exhibition swimmers must be bona fide squad members.
One starter and one referee are to be provided by the swimming coordinator. A relative of a competitor is not to be assigned to meets as an official.
Officials will be assigned by the Conference Coordinator for all Conference meets. Non-Conference meets will be scheduled by each school. Host school will have officials vouchers or checks available on or before the day of a meet.
Two diving judges are required at dual meets, but three are recommended.
Visiting diving teams shall get 30 minutes of uninterrupted warm-up prior to the meet, forty-five (45) minutes before (and) until fifteen (15) minutes immediately prior to the meet.
Additionally, all visiting teams shall be given a complete Hytek back-up copy upon completion of the meet. A hard copy of the meet results, including splits, shall also be made available for visiting teams, if so desired.
Conference Champion
A conference champion will be determined by conference standings.
All-Conference
A maximum of 36 (Girls) and 30 (Boys) All-Conference Awards is allowed. All Conference will be determined by ranking the top 36 (Girls) and 30 (Boys) swimming and diving scores based on the N.I.S.C.A. power point chart. The times or scores will be those achieved through the conference season. All swimmers or divers performances will be given a point total from the power point chart. The top 36 (Girls) and 30 (Boys) times/scores will be awarded All-Conference. The number of 40 was selected to average 4 per team.
A diver’s six dive scores for All-Conference consideration will be determined by dropping the best and worst Metro West Conference score and averaging the remaining conference dual meet scores. The diver’s averaged score must consist of a minimum of three conference dual meets, with the high and low score being dropped.
The top two divers (based on power points) will automatically be named All-Conference and all divers scoring 120 or more will be placed in the pool with the remaining swimmers to vie for All-Conference awards.
A maximum of 2 All-Conference Honorable Mention Awards are allowed per school.
The head coach of the host school is to phone results of the meet to the Star Tribune (612-673-4447) and the St. Paul Dispatch/Pioneer Press (651-228-5516).
Meet results are to be sent to the designated webmaster for the conference.

No Metro West Conference budget is set aside for Swimming.
