Metronome: Tempo & Tuner is built to respect your privacy completely. We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no logins and no advertising. Anonymous usage analytics are collected to improve the app.
This policy explains exactly how the app interacts with your device and data.
Anonymous Analytics
The app uses Aptabase, a privacy-first analytics service hosted in the European Union (eu.aptabase.com), to understand how the app is used.
We may collect anonymous events such as:
App open and which screen is viewed (metronome, presets, tuner, settings)
Metronome or tuner start and stop
Preset save and load (counts only — not preset names)
Paywall views and purchase or restore outcomes
Aptabase does not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), device IDs you can see, accounts, emails, or precise location. Events are not used for advertising or to track you across other apps or websites. Aptabase’s handling of data is described in the Aptabase Privacy Policy.
Device Permissions & Data Handling
Microphone (Tuner): The chromatic tuner requires access to your device's microphone to detect pitch. This audio is analyzed entirely on your device, in real time, and strictly while the tuner is active. Audio is never recorded, saved, or transmitted. Microphone access stops immediately when you leave the tuner, and you can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Notifications: If you enable practice reminders, the app schedules them locally on your device. No reminder data leaves your device, and we do not use remote push notifications from a server. You can disable reminders at any time.
On-Device Storage: Your presets, settings, and Pro status are stored locally on your device. This data is shared directly with the app's Home Screen widgets and Apple Watch app to keep them in sync—it is never uploaded to a server. Deleting the app permanently removes this data from your device.
Purchases
The optional one-time Pro unlock is processed securely by Apple via the App Store. We never see, process, or store your payment details. Your purchase status is managed by Apple and stored on your device. Apple's handling of these transactions is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
No Advertising or Cross-App Tracking
The app contains no advertising SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites. We do not build a personal profile of you. The only third-party analytics SDK is Aptabase, used solely for anonymous product analytics as described above.
Children's Privacy
The app does not collect personal information that identifies a user. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Anonymous usage analytics do not include names, accounts, or contact details.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date below. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
