Extreme Golf Cart Makeover
Welcome back to the Garage for the Season 2 Finale of Extreme Golf Cart Makeover! You've been anticipating it, and we know you're thrilled. So stay tuned to discover how our 2006 EZ-GO TXT was turned into something spectacular, as well as who won the $3000 big prize in our contest, or better yet, read about it below.
The Transformation Process
We began by dismantling the cart in order to prepare for all of our customisation.
Height : We measured the height before lifting and discovered an 11-inch height gain from 66.5 to 77.5 inches at the conclusion of the undertaking.
Speed : When we hauled this cart home, we averaged around 13 miles per hour. Using the same smartphone app we used in our initial test, we can see that our efforts resulted in a five-mile-per-hour speed boost, bringing us up to the right at about 18 miles per hour.
Accessories We added
Accessories Lift Kit - We raised the cart using a Madjax 5-inch drop axle lift kit.
We used 23-inch predator tires on 14-inch GTW spider wheels. These looked amazing and made getting under the cart for additional installations much simpler.
Body Kit - We went with a Madjax Storm body kit in cherry metallic red, which arrived fast in little boxes and was a lot of fun to assemble. This has to be one of the greatest body kits we've ever fitted. It definitely sticks out and gives your cart a great appearance!
Golf Cart Seats : Next, we put black magic Tsunami seats with liquid silver and grey accents on the front and matching cushions on the genesis 250 rear seat kit. There were so many amazing things on this, but the most notable were the comfort and ingenuity in the lovely American stitched seats.
Rooftop : Later, we replaced our struts and build a Red-Dot bespoke extended top sail rooftop. This American-made canvas top is a one-of-a-kind sun cover that was a fun job to build and install because of its low-profile design.
Windshield: For the windshield, we picked a Red-dot windshield that is of high quality and is designed to properly match the front cowl of the storm kit.
Brush Guard and Armour Nerf Bars : After we had nearly finished rehabbing the cart, we added some last upgrades in our previous episode, including the storm kit brush guard and armor nerf bars with drop-down stairs to finish the outside. Madjax items like these are tough-coated and really help complete the aesthetic.
We preserved our accent color scheme by putting a carbon fiber floor mat to give the inside a sleek bespoke appearance.
Dash Cover : We fitted a carbon fiber dash cover kit to give our automobile a high-end appeal. Another occasion where documentation of electrical connections and images came in handy!
Steering Wheel : Keeping with the carbon fiber concept, we added a GTW rally-style steering wheel from a client. This is one of our favorite pieces since the accents are molded in, as opposed to color inserts that you must place yourself, and it looks excellent with everything else in black or silver!
Side and back mirrors were later installed, as well as an extra-wide 180-degree panoramic rear-view mirror. These mirrors are easy to setup; they come with everything you need.
Our young mechanic had an intriguing idea when we completed the mirrors, so we purchased some Ohio State Buckeyes fathead decals to complete the motif with our color scheme. Of course, we tested it on some old material and other surfaces to verify that it wouldn't harm our work if someone else wanted to remove it eventually.
Say hello to "Brutus."
When a GCG cart is finished, it is given a name, and we have opted to call this one "Brutus" after the OSU Buckeyes mascot.
