Mission Statement
The Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild (METG) provides opportunities for students and teachers to create, share, and respond to theatrical experiences. We believe that participation in the arts fosters creative thinking, personal confidence, and an appreciation of diverse ideas and cultures. These valuable interpersonal skills empower students to become the next generation of artists, audiences, and patrons.
METG Perspective
For almost a century, the METG has been a leader in arts education:
Educational Collaboration: We work with teachers and artists in schools to strengthen their drama-based activities and improve theatrical production values.
Leadership: We train young theater artists to become positive, empathetic leaders and to embrace the diversity of thought in their communities.
Advocacy: We work to close the arts programming gap in underserved communities by underscoring the importance of strong school arts curricula and increased public funding for education.
Inspiration: We challenge students, teachers, and artists to fully realize their talent and potential.
