Christmas 1992 - A Childrens Legacy
Christmas 1992 - A Childrens Legacy
This historical heirloom (Family Letter) was written by my mother when I was age 24 (33 years ago) and given to me, my brother and my sister at Christmas 1992. As you read through the 3 sections you will see the significant message that is described to each and every one of us as we grow older in years. The ORIGINAL letter and 1/3rd of a pound note shown here below is the ONLY copy left in existence today. My brothers had been lost in a hurtful relationship break-up and my sister has been missing since shortly after this letter was given. I have travelled many places, lived 'off-grid' and managed to retain my copy to this day.
Behold the 1/3 of a Pound note, a fragment of currency, seemingly insignificant yet pregnant with significance. It is not merely paper and ink, but a reflection of value both tangible and intangible, waiting to be deciphered by those with eyes to see. So let us embark on a journey of revelation, where the letter and the note converge to reveal truths that transcend their physical forms. Let us embrace the challenge of decoding their hidden meaning, for in doing so, we may uncover the profound wisdom that lies beneath the surface of the mundane.
Upon maturing with age and becoming wiser with years, General KevBarefoot has worked tirelessly to rekindle that 'Power of 3', something that has stuck with him all this time since his early teenage years. As his younger sister vanished without trace, his wife, Sarah has been the biggest and closest female relative and soul-mate one could ever wish for. The journey they have been through has been long and hard but they have survived everything that has been thrown at them, always rising from the deep with heads held high. Sarah becomes that 3rd party to this Trust Relationship without a doubt.
Hello XXXX, XXXX, XXXX You may recall, many years ago, the three of you were handed a £1 note BETWEEN you. You were then shocked that the £1 note was taken from you, torn into three pieces, and one piece given to each of you. You were just children at the time, too young to understand that what you each had was worth 33 1/3p each (if joined together) but nothing at all in three separate pieces. The giver of these pieces said that when you were older - much older - you might some day look at your individual pieces and wonder about the others. As time has gone on the value of the £1 note has gone down and become worth less but each piece without the other two is TOTALLY WORTHLESS. You weren’t expected to realise the hidden meaning attached to the gesture at the time - has it become...
...clear to any of you yet? Recently, two pieces of the original £1 note were found together - one was missing, making the two and the missing one all totally worthless. The other two pieces have been lost now - though they will be found some day. Perhaps one of you claimed his/her piece at sometime thinking it of value, only that person would know. However, by some “twist of fate perhaps”, another ‘old’ £1 note was hidden away for a reason not clear at the time, which could perhaps give you all another chance to realise that the original was not torn into three as some act of vandalism, but had a very deep meaning. If you look at the three pieces you will see they are all different - a different picture, shape, size perhaps - but equally important to the whole £1. If you lose or disregard your third you will be poorer for that by so much more that 33 1/3! You see, the three pieces...
...represent the three of you, all different but of equal importance, and each worthless, in some way, without the other two.
Perhaps you should keep your ‘new chance’ pieces safe, as a ‘talisman’, it may help make you each a better person for so doing, and you may never be so fortunate as to get another chance - old £1 notes being as ‘rare as’ horse feathers!
From time to time, place the three pieces together and learn something from the gesture, one day you will be wise enough to fully understand the value of each piece, yours and the other two. You are all so fortunate that ‘those wiser than any of us’ have seen fit to repeat the original gesture!
God Bless You All
