This app is built to respect your privacy. We do not sell your personal data, and
your content stays on your device. This policy explains the limited data the app uses.
INFORMATION THE APP USES
- precise location (GPS), OPTIONAL — used only if you choose the "nearest airport" feature, to find the closest reporting station for a weather report. Location is used on your device to build the weather request and is never stored by us. You can use the app fully by typing an ICAO code instead, without granting location.
- anonymous diagnostics and crash reports (via Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) to keep the app stable.
- an advertising identifier and related data used by Google AdMob to show ads. On iOS, the app asks for your permission via App Tracking Transparency (ATT) before any tracking, and uses Google's UMP consent flow to honor GDPR/EEA choices. You can decline tracking and the app keeps working with non-personalized ads.
This app does not require camera or microphone access.
HOW IT IS USED
Raw METAR and TAF reports are fetched from the U.S. Aviation Weather Center public
service (aviationweather.gov), which requires no account and no key. All decoding of
those reports into plain language, the flight-category calculation, and your saved
airport favorites happen on your device. Saved airports are stored on your device only.
We use the data above only to provide the app's features, to keep the app stable,
and (with your consent) to show ads. We do not build advertising profiles ourselves
and we do not upload your content to our servers.
DATA RETENTION & YOUR CONTROL
Settings and saved airports you create are stored on your device and are removed when
you delete the app. You can revoke location or tracking permissions at any time in the
iOS Settings app; the app will continue to work by letting you type an ICAO code.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The app may use: Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics), Google AdMob (ads), and the
U.S. Aviation Weather Center (aviationweather.gov) for raw METAR/TAF data. Their
handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
CHILDREN
This app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal
information from children.
