FIELD TRIP!!!! The Institute for American Indian Studies Museum in Washington, CT. "Indian Lifeways" class.

Explorers (Grades 1-4)

Our younger students are engaged with high quality literature, games, art, and lots of hands on, experiential learning. The attitude towards education that a child develops in these early years often shapes their later approach to "school" and learning.  We want the younger members of our community to explore, adventure, and find their stride as lifelong learners. Following the same 4 year curriculum cycle as older siblings and community members introduces key concepts in history, language arts, philosophy, and science early and helps Explorers feel connected and engaged in Metanoia from the very beginning! For those able to participate, field trips bring concepts to life!

Our live online classes include the "fun" parts of school/group learning. We will enjoy read alouds, cooperative games and activities, and fun science challenges together as well as encourage and celebrate one another's successes across all curricular areas. In between our live check ins, with help from our experienced, certified teachers, parents and students will work through hands-on, developmentally appropriate reading and math curriculum according to each student's individual level and needs.

It's the best of both worlds: the freedom to homeschool and the support and comraderie of a learning community!
