This is a archaeology-themed challenge requiring students to design, build, and program a robot to compete on a special field. In the match, two teams work together to compete to score points by classifying, launching, and shooting specific patterns of balls (artifacts) into the goals for bonus points. There is an autonomous period where the robot operates without a human for 30 seconds and a TeleOp period, which is when there are drivers that control the robot. At the end, there is an endgame, when we try to fit both teams' robots into a small 18x18 inch area for bonus points. The objective is to use STEM skills and cooperation to score the most points.
The launch zones of the field are where the robots can shoot the artifacts into the goals. In the beginning of the game, artifacts are placed on the field. There is one goal for each alliance to score artifacts into, and a gate that can be opened to clear the goal and score more balls. There is an obelisk that displays the pattern that the artifacts should be scored into the goals to earn points. The loading zones are for human players to drop artifacts into robots. The base zone is where alliances try to fit into at the end of the match for more points.
