This Privacy Policy describes how Metafield Bulk Editor & Undo ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when a merchant installs and uses the App on their Shopify store.
When you install the App, we may access the following data from your Shopify store, solely to provide the App's functionality:
Store information: store name, domain, and store owner contact details provided by Shopify at installation
Product and catalog data: products, variants, collections, metafields, and metaobjects, and their existing values
App usage data: bulk edits performed, values changed, and version history created for the undo feature
We do not access customer personal data (such as customer names, emails, addresses, or order information) unless a future version of the App explicitly requires it, in which case this policy will be updated first.
We use the information above only to:
Display your store's products, metafields, and metaobjects within the App
Perform bulk edits you request and apply them to your store
Store version history of your edits so you can undo them
Respond to support requests you send us
Maintain and improve the App's reliability and performance
We do not sell, rent, or share your store data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Metafield and version history data is stored securely and is only used to deliver the App's core features. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect this data from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
Data related to a store is retained only for as long as the App remains installed, plus a limited period afterward to allow reinstallation without data loss. If you uninstall the App, you may request that we delete your store's stored data by contacting us using the details below.
The App operates within the Shopify platform and relies on Shopify's APIs to read and write store data. Shopify's own handling of merchant and customer data is governed by Shopify's Privacy Policy, available at shopify.com/legal/privacy.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services within the App beyond what is disclosed in this policy.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of data associated with your store. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
We retain store data only as long as necessary to provide the App's functionality. Upon uninstallation, data is deleted or anonymized within [30/60/90] days, unless retention is required for legal or legitimate business purposes.
The App is intended for use by business merchants and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under the age of 16.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Replace [DATE] with the date you publish this page
Replace [30/60/90] with your actual retention window once decided
If a future version of the app accesses customer PII (names, emails, order data), this policy needs an update before that version ships, since Shopify reviewers check that the privacy policy matches actual data access
