# Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
This privacy policy is for Batch Generator & Auto Download for Meta AI, a Chrome extension made by us at tagsbuddy. It explains what information the extension handles, where that information lives, and what (very little) ever reaches us. We've tried to write it the way we'd want to read it: plainly.
## The honest summary
The extension runs entirely in your browser. Your prompts, your settings, and everything you generate stay on your computer. The only piece of personal information we ever receive is your email address, and only if you choose to sign in to check your plan. We don't run analytics, we don't track your browsing, and we have nothing to sell because we collect almost nothing.
## What the extension saves on your computer
Like most extensions, ours uses Chrome's built-in storage to remember things between sessions. Everything below is stored locally in your browser and never sent to us:
Your settings — things like the generation mode you picked, aspect ratio, how many outputs you want per prompt, download quality, and your preferred language.
Your prompt queue — the prompts you've queued up and how far along they are, so a running batch isn't lost if you reload the page or restart Chrome.
A debug log — a short local activity log (at most 500 entries) that exists so you can troubleshoot problems. We only ever see it if you personally copy it and send it to us in a bug report.
Your email address — but only if you sign in. Signing in is optional, and the extension works fine without it.
If you want any of this gone, you can sign out from the side panel, reset your settings, or simply uninstall the extension — Chrome deletes the extension's storage along with it.
## What actually leaves your computer
Exactly two things, and here they are:
First, a small configuration file. Every so often the extension downloads a little JSON file from our website, metaai.tagsbuddy.com. Websites like meta.ai change their page layout from time to time, and this file tells the extension where things are now, so it keeps working without you having to wait for an update. This request carries no personal information — no email, no prompts, nothing about your browsing.
Second, your email address — only if you sign in. When you type in your email to check your plan, we look up whether that email has a free or unlimited plan, and that's the end of it. We don't add you to a mailing list, we don't share your email with anyone, and we don't combine it with data from anywhere else.
That's the complete list. Payments for the Unlimited plan happen on our website, not inside the extension, so the extension never sees any payment details.
## What we never collect
For the avoidance of any doubt, the extension does not collect or transmit your browsing history, the pages you visit, or the content of any website. It reads the meta.ai page locally in order to do its job, but none of that ever leaves your machine. Your prompts and the videos and images you generate go from meta.ai directly into your own Downloads folder. There is no keystroke logging, no click tracking, no location data, no advertising identifiers, and no analytics of any kind. There are also no passwords involved — signing in is by email only.
## Why the extension asks for the permissions it does
When you install the extension, Chrome will tell you it wants access to a few things. Here's why, in plain words.
It needs access to meta.ai because that's where it works — it submits your prompts there and collects the finished media. It is completely inactive on every other website. It needs access to our own site, metaai.tagsbuddy.com, for the configuration file and plan check described above. It asks for storage to save your settings and queue on your device, for the side panel because that's where its whole interface lives, and for downloads because automatically saving your generated videos and images is the entire point of the extension. It uses the tabs permission only to find your meta.ai tab (or offer to open one) — it does not read your other tabs or your history. And it uses alarms so Chrome doesn't put the extension to sleep in the middle of a long batch.
## How long we keep things
On our side, the only record that exists is the email address tied to a plan. Everything else lives in your browser and disappears when you remove it. If you'd like the email associated with your plan deleted from our records, just ask — contact details are below — and we'll remove it.
## Children
The extension isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect any information from them.
## When this policy changes
If we ever change what data the extension handles, we'll update this page and the date at the top before that change ships. We won't quietly start collecting something new.
