Messiah Lutheran Church Council Meeting Minutes April 22, 2026

Meeting Attendees: Janell Crow, Katie Crow, Brittany Hennesy, Dave Phillips, Sharon Paul and Craig Voshell

Call to Order: 4:57 p.m. 

Devotion: Delivered by Janell from Psalms 118.24 

Approval of agenda: Motioned by Brittany second by Katie and approved by all 

Approval of March Minutes: Motioned by Dave second by Sharon and approved by all 

Call Report: N/A 

Building and ground: Started mowing, the rock still needs to be put down, tree in the corner needs to come down, Earl donated money ($5000) to church for air conditioner, a new AC unit will be $9,029, the flower bed has been refreshed, Judy and Craig will do spring cleaning and also grab new gardening tools 

Personnel: N/A

Visitation: Craig visited  Earl 

Fellowship and Hospitality: Easter Sunrise breakfast was a success over $150 that was brought in, Janesville days will be next, there has been cash donations that have been brought in that will help throughout the summer

Education: Easter egg hunt was a success despite the weather, Sunday school will go through May, there will be kids singing on mothers day, MLC will pay for the snacks for vacation bible school ($250 budget) if there are more snacks that need to be provided it will come out of the education fund 

Worship and Planning: Janell said she planned ministers through September, there is a plan to buy a gel mat for pastor Liz 

Treasurer Report: Investments increased in March, the church made $326.99, brought in $200 in revenue from script sales, Allison will fill in for organist during May and June, miscellaneous spending is from tree trimming service, Janesville days ($250), PTA ($50), flower pot replacement and cleaning supplies ($36.06), the tv and angel tv for the kids is paid on the credit card, the kids already enjoy angel tv

Katie made a motion to approve and Craig seconded, approved by all 

Old / Unfinished Business: N/A, Keke will not be doing Senior Sunday in May, confirmation date is still unknown

New Business: Skinner family will be joining as new members and join the mailing list, confirmation, Piper Drewis baptism
