Since downloading the Apple iso 17.0 onto my Iphone 11 Pro my Facebook Messenger app won't open. When I try to open the app It just disappears, but shows as an open app, but just with messenger logo in the middle of the screen. I have tried reinstalling the app numerous times and also resetting the network settings.

reduce you font size see if that works Apple and messenger did an update that corrected this make sure you have done all updates after ios 17 update it didn't work but they did another update and then messenger did one it was working for me you have to do all updates

Thank you for your response. My problem is that the messenger app is not syncing with my AWU2. The messenger was installed in my iPhone but not available in my watch. That's the reason why I'm.not receiving notification.

messenger Just had a default ring tone when a video call would come in. I go into settings in messengerand I do not even see an option under sounds for a video alert. So by default I am assuming that sound is simply set. Would be ok if it worked. Has something to do with the last update. I just double checked all my settings.

In her contact list all the names have a circle with their initials under it and yes when she presses and holds it does give the drop down menu. So, in order to do what I do(which is to touch and press on the circle of the persons name in my messenger list) there is no circle, just the name of the person and when she presses nothing! in order for it to happen, she had to touch the 'i' in the circle on the top right then press the press the circle from there but thats just two extra steps.

Hello, I have tried all variants and also reseting but I have notifications from all other apps and messages except facebook and messenger. I must go into the app and than i see that someone was texted me (the person isnt muted). It is very annoying because i dont knon if someone was texted me till i get into the app. Help please and thank you very much

Hi, I used to record voice memos and share them on messenger (bec they're usually higher in quality than messenger voice notes) but now when I share them I get an error message saying "Can't Send Message, Check your connection and try again" but my internet is pretty good, I tried sharing other files i.e photos from the photos app "same method" and it works. I tried offloading the voice memos app, reinstalling Messenger, and restarting my iPhone and resetting my network settings and nothing helps.

White knighting Apple? ??? There's no bigger hater than me. This just isn't their issue and I have no problem making that known. They have bigger fish to fry that compatibility with messenger. Give me a break.

If you have both Facebook iPhone app and Facebook messenger app installed in your iPhone, I noticed that, as long as you are logged in in the Facebook app, Facebook messenger app knows who you are immediately!

Basically this is done using Single Sign-On (SSO) feature of the Facebook iOS SDK. According to the facebook developer documentation, ,it states that if the user already has the Facebook app of version greater than 3.2.3 installed and that the iOS device of the user supports multitasking, then basically the app (the facebook messenger in this case) can ask for the current logged in user information from the main Facebook program.

My iphone 6 (with IOS 9.2, i think) is using a lot of mobile with video calling on facebook messenger while connected Wifi. I have Wifi assist turned off. I have MyDataManager installed and it shows me that in a half hour period this morning I used 1.5GB of Wifi and 0.5GB of Mobile data. My mobile provide agrees that I used a lot of mobile data today. That's the only time today that I've done anything data intensive.

That's not a solution... She will be not available through fb messenger while she is away... Update: We've just tried to receive a video call at the front of the access point (UniFi ac pro - enterprise grade WiFi). It was extremely laggy, the caller saw frozen pictures and could understand nothing... It's because the carrier limited cellular datarate heavily after fb messenger drained the subscription... FaceTime worked to the same person smooth and nicely...

thank you for your research.

But I observed one more thing, which is weird for me.

I have experienced the same problem, which is described in the first post of this topic. But the weirdest thing is, that my wife, which I had a videochat with, didnt loose any mobile data at all during that videochat. She has an android device.

So I doubt to say theres a bug in an app of Messneger only for iOS, as far as it works well on (or better to say without any mobile data used during a videochat) an android devices (or at least on one). There is probably no other explanation of the fact, that my iphone used mobile data and my wifes android didnt.

I Have exactly the same problem. Wifi assist is off, data for the messenger app is off, I am connected to my wifi at home with very strong signal and 200mbps, yet the app uses data when I video call. When I turn my data completely off it stops using, but not when I put it off for the app only. Is this due to iOS or Messenger? It is a seriously annoying problem.

You are not alone. I noticed t morning that FB messenger was still sending/receiving messages over cellular despite being disabled in ios settings. Only when I also disabled data for the main FB app, did it stop using cellular data. Someth is not right somewhere, FB and messenger use 100s of MB!

I have the same issue and it is really frustrating. I think its an iOS issue. The apps are actually not be allowed to use cellular data while connected to a wifi and Wifi-Assist is turned off. But somehow the messenger app still manages to use cellular data.

Same problem here. I have never actually used the FB messenger app with video before, but late last night a friend called while I was sitting at home, on WiFi. I had actually been monitoring my data because I knew I knew I was already at 75% usage. We talked for almost exactly 100 minutes, and when I hung up I saw I had two texts from Verizon: one at 22:39 saying I had used 90% of my data, and another at 23:04 saying I had used all my data. I actually went over my limit by half a gig and have to pay overages. I've NEVER gone over my limit before, and there is no other explanation given the timing. When I called today for an explanation I was told that the iPhone 6 will choose whichever signal (data or WiFi) is stronger, but that seems like a stretch, since i know the signal in my house is very strong. I am actually very upset about this, though it explains why in the several months my data usage has increased dramatically (my average usage eight months ago was less than half a gig; now it's about 1.75 gigs). Seems like a scam, and needs to be addressed.

Hi guys. I have a Samsung Note 3. I'm having an issue which started recently where Facebook Messenger video messages that I send do not have any sound. When I press and hold the video record button in the app and then release the button to replay a recording there is a slight click sound and then total silence throughout the video. Oh my dad that the camera works perfectly in the phone and all videos work as they should. I've done absolutely everything I can think of including uninstalling both Facebook and the messenger app, reinstalling, clearing cache for the apps, clearing cache for the phone, wiping your phone to factory settings and reinstalling everything and a few others to no avail. Any ideas you may have would be greatly appreciated as I'm totally fed up with this issue. TIA

Use the application to call out to mobiles and landlines around the world at the most affordable rates. Please note that your phone contacts are not automatically transferred to messenger which preserves your anonymity. Only you decide who to add to your SafeUM contact list. 2351a5e196
