Privacy Policy — Messages
Last updated: July 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Messages ("the App," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App.
WHO WE ARE
Messages is developed by Water Sort Puzzles. If you have questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact us at tarangsutariya3440@gmail.com.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND WHY
Read, Receive, Send SMS — Core messaging: displaying, receiving, and sending text messages. Required for Messages to function as your SMS app. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us.
Receive WAP Push / Cell Broadcasts — Receiving and displaying MMS (picture/media) messages. Processed locally on your device.
Read Phone State — Detecting when a call starts and ends, so the App can show you a post-call screen with information about the caller.
Read Call Log — Identifying the phone number of an incoming caller after a call ends, when that number isn't otherwise available to the App. Used only to look up the most recent call entry immediately after a call ends. We do not browse, store, or upload your call history.
Call Phone — Letting you tap "Call back" directly from a conversation or the post-call screen.
Read Contacts — Matching phone numbers to the names in your contacts, so conversations and the post-call screen show a name instead of just a number. Matched locally on your device.
Display Over Other Apps — Showing message previews and the post-call screen as an overlay, so you can see them without switching apps.
Post Notifications — Alerting you to new messages.
Respond via Message — Letting you quick-reply to a call directly with a text message, using Android's built-in call-response feature.
None of the data above leaves your device or is sent to our servers. We do not operate a server that stores your message content, contact list, or call history.
ADVERTISING AND MARKETING
The App shows advertisements, including on the post-call screen, served and monetized through:
Google AdMob Google Ad Manager
We also use the following tools for marketing and advertising our App to new users:
Google Ads Facebook Ads (Meta)
These services may collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, and usage data to serve ads, measure ad performance, and reach potential users, under their own privacy policies:
Google: https://policies.google.com/privacy Meta (Facebook): https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
We do not use your call log, phone number lookups, contacts, or message content to target or personalize advertisements. Caller identification data collected via Read Call Log and Read Contacts permissions is used solely to display who is calling, and is never shared with, or used to inform, the advertising or marketing tools named above.
DATA SHARING
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your messages, contacts, or call log data with third parties, except:
With the advertising and marketing services named above, limited to device/usage data for ad serving and measurement — never message, contact, or call content. If required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
YOUR CHOICES
You can deny any permission listed above. The App is designed to keep working with reduced functionality rather than fail — for example, if Call Log access is denied, the post-call screen shows without a caller number.
You can turn the post-call screen on or off entirely in Settings > Calling > Call end screen.
You can uninstall the App at any time to stop all data collection.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date.
