MEET THE BAND

MESSAGE FROM MERCURY

Formed in July 2023, Message From Mercury is a four-piece alternative band from Northeast Louisiana. The band was formed by long-time friends Chris Martinez and Ashten Morgan who quickly recruited local bassist, Rachel Brocato, and local drummer, Matthew Martinez, Chris's brother. The four close friends now perform all throughout North Louisiana and the surrounding region.

The band has garnered attention across the region for their theatrical, high-energy performances. With their massive sound, their gripping stage presence, and their bold fashion sense, Message From Mercury steals the hearts of their audiences everywhere they go.

In February of 2024, their debut single "Gravity" took the North Louisiana music scene by storm, further solidifying their dominance in the alternative rock scene and propelling them into their songwriting careers.

Always seeking to innovate and subvert expectations, their discography bridges the gap between mainstream pop and alternative hard rock.

The band is currently focused on performing live shows and writing more music.

Ashten Morgan

Lead Vocals

"I'm Ashten, the lead vocals and frontman for Message From Mercury. I'm from a small town in Northeast Louisiana called Bastrop. All throughout my childhood, I bounced between my hometown and the nearby cities of Monroe and West Monroe, so I never really kept friends which I think made me kind of an introvert. I'd probably be considered the most "serious" member of the band.

My background isn't actually in music, but in visual art, so I've been drawing and painting all my life. Even today, I design all the graphics for the band. In 2022, I earned my B.A. in Game Art & Animation from The University of Advancing Technology.

I've been singing since I was about 16. Bands like Nirvana, Three Days Grace, Soundgarden, and Linkin Park played a pivotal role in shaping my tastes as a kid. That said, my all-time favorites have got to be Queen, Muse, and My Chemical Romance. I'm inspired by their grandiose themes, anthemic sounds, and theatricality, all of which influence my musical expression, both on-stage and in the Studio."

Chris Martinez

"What's up. I'm Chris, the guitar player for Message From Mercury. I am originally from Pensacola, Florida, but have lived most of my life in Northeast Louisiana. I am hands down the goofiest in the group.

I have 7 years of experience with the guitar, playing with countless small bands over the years in varying styles, gaining experience along the way. I have also attended the Berklee College of Music for guitar performance, and still seek to further my musical education. I draw inspiration from every genre and find beauty in just about every piece of music.

Rachel Brocato

"Hey there, I'm Rachel, a passionate bassist hailing from Rayville, Louisiana. I'm probably the most quiet member of the band, often keeping to myself, but don't let that fool you – I'm secretly goofy.

Drawing inspiration from iconic bands like My Chemical Romance, Joy Division, and Nirvana, my music journey is a blend of raw emotion and energy. My deep love for pop punk, new wave, classic rock, and metal finds its way into my bass lines, creating a truly unique and captivating sound that resonates with the heart and soul.
