Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 30, 2026
1. Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how unitytoosapp (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the Android application Messenger SMS & Chat App (the “App”).
The App is a messenger SMS application that lets you send, receive, and manage SMS messages, view conversations, schedule messages, and use related messaging features. The App does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use its core features. Message content, contacts, drafts, and other messaging data are processed and stored locally on your device.
This Privacy Policy applies to your use of the App and is designed to comply with:
Google Play Developer Program Policies (including User Data and Data Safety requirements)
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area
California Consumer Privacy Act / California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA)
California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
We designed the App so that we do not collect, store, or transmit your personal messaging data (SMS content, conversation history, contact lists, drafts, or similar information) to our own servers. Core messaging functions run locally on your device.
Information processed only on your device (not collected by us):
SMS messages you send or receive
Contact names and phone numbers used for display
Drafts, pinned conversations, archived conversations, and local preferences
Scheduled message data
Information that may be collected by third-party services integrated in the App:
Device information, usage analytics, crash reports, and advertising identifiers (collected by Firebase and advertising partners – see Sections 6 and 7)
Limited non-personal purchase/subscription status information shared by Google Play so we can unlock premium features
We do not require or collect email addresses, names, or other personal details for account creation. The App has no user accounts or sign-in.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process information only where we have a valid legal basis:
Consent – for optional features such as analytics or personalized advertising (where required)
Legitimate interests – to provide core App functionality, improve stability, and ensure security
Contractual necessity – to deliver the services you request (including in-app purchases)
Legal obligation – when required by applicable law
You may withdraw consent at any time through device settings or by contacting us.
4. Permissions We Use in Our App and Why
The App requests the following Android permissions. You can manage or revoke most of them at any time in your device Settings > Apps > Messenger SMS & Chat App > Permissions.
Send SMS (android.permission.SEND_SMS)
Allows the App to send SMS messages you compose. This is essential for the core messaging function.
Receive SMS (android.permission.RECEIVE_SMS)
Allows the App to receive incoming SMS messages so they can be displayed in conversations.
Read SMS (android.permission.READ_SMS)
Allows the App to access and display your existing SMS conversations and message content on the device.
Contacts Access (android.permission.READ_CONTACTS)
Allows the App to read contact names and numbers so it can show friendly contact names instead of only phone numbers.
Phone State (android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE)
Allows access to basic telephony information needed for SIM-related messaging operations and proper SMS handling.
Device Boot Detection (android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED)
Allows the App to restore scheduled messages and background tasks after the device restarts.
Wake Lock (android.permission.WAKE_LOCK)
Keeps the device awake briefly while performing critical background operations such as scheduled message delivery or data maintenance.
Notifications (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS)
Allows the App to show notifications for new messages and important alerts.
Foreground Service & Foreground Service Data Sync (android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE and android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC)
Allows the App to run backup, restore, or other important background tasks reliably while showing a visible notification.
Telephony Feature (android.hardware.telephony)
Declares that the App uses telephony hardware features required for SMS functionality.
SMS Intent Queries (android.intent.action.SENDTO with sms scheme)
Enables the App to interact correctly with SMS-related system intents and other messaging apps when needed.
Default SMS App Role (ROLE_SMS)
Required if you choose to set the App as your system default SMS app. This role allows full management of SMS and MMS messages according to Android platform rules. You can change the default SMS app at any time in your device settings.
These permissions are used only for the stated purposes. The App does not use them to collect or send your message content or contacts to our servers.
5. Data Storage and Security
Message content, contacts, drafts, pinned/archived conversations, and local preferences are stored only on your device using Room Database and DataStore.
We do not operate servers that store your personal messaging data.
Any data recovery or backup operations performed by the App happen locally on your device.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of local processing. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for keeping your device secure (screen lock, updates, etc.).
6. Third-Party Libraries & SDKs Used in Our App

Google Advertising Policies: https://support.google.com/adspolicy
Meta Privacy Policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy
7. Advertising, Analytics, and Tracking Technologies
Advertising
The App shows ads from Google AdMob, Google AdX, and Meta (Facebook) Audience Network. These partners may use advertising identifiers, device information, and interaction data to serve ads and measure performance. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (Google Settings > Ads, or equivalent).
Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand general app usage (screen views, feature interactions) so we can improve the App. This data is aggregated and does not include your SMS content.
Crash Reporting
Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports, stack traces, and limited device information to help us fix bugs. It does not include message content.
You can limit analytics and advertising personalization through your device settings and the privacy options provided by Google and Meta.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The App itself does not use traditional web cookies. Third-party advertising and analytics SDKs may use local storage, advertising identifiers, or similar technologies on your device. These are governed by the respective third-party privacy policies linked above.
9. Detailed Information on the Processing of Your Personal Data
Categories of data that may be processed (mostly by third parties):
Device identifiers and advertising ID
Approximate location (if derived by ad networks from IP or other signals)
App usage and interaction data
Crash and diagnostic data
Limited purchase/subscription status (from Google Play)
Purposes:
Provide core SMS messaging features (local processing only)
Show relevant advertisements
Analyze app performance and fix crashes
Deliver push notifications
Unlock premium features after verified purchases
We do not sell your personal information.
10. Data Retention and Deletion
Local messaging data remains on your device until you delete it inside the App or uninstall the App.
Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored App data from your device.
Third-party services (Firebase, ad networks) retain data according to their own policies. You can request deletion from them directly where available.
We do not retain personal messaging data on our systems because we do not collect it.
11. Payment Terms and In-App Purchases
The App offers in-app purchases and paid subscriptions for premium features.
All payments and subscriptions are handled safely by Google Play Billing. We do not collect, store, or see your payment details such as card information or Google account passwords.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel them before the next billing date. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime from your Google Play account settings. If you cancel, you will continue to enjoy premium features until the current billing period ends.
Purchase Information
Google may share limited, non-personal purchase details with us, such as subscription status or validity, so we can unlock premium features.
Refunds & Cancellations
All refund requests must be made through Google Play, following Google Play’s refund rules.
Third-Party Sharing
We do not share your purchase or subscription information with any third parties, except when required by Google for payment verification.
Policies
All in-app purchases and subscriptions follow Google Play Terms of Service (https://play.google.com/about/play-terms/) and Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
12. User Rights Under GDPR
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Rectify inaccurate data
Erase data (right to be forgotten)
Restrict or object to processing
Data portability
Withdraw consent at any time
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Because most of your messaging data stays only on your device, the practical way to exercise many of these rights is by managing permissions or uninstalling the App. For any data processed by third-party services, you may also contact those services directly. Contact us at the email below to exercise your rights.
13. User Rights Under CCPA/CPRA
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
Know what personal information is collected, used, shared, or sold
Delete personal information (subject to exceptions)
Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information
Non-discrimination for exercising your rights
Correct inaccurate personal information
Limit use of sensitive personal information
We do not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. You may also use device settings to limit advertising identifiers.
14. “Do Not Track” (CalOPPA)
Some browsers and devices offer a “Do Not Track” signal. The App does not respond to Do Not Track signals because core functionality relies on local processing and the third-party SDKs we use have their own practices. You can control advertising and analytics through your device settings.
15. International Data Transfers
Third-party services such as Firebase and advertising partners may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. These transfers are carried out under appropriate safeguards required by applicable law (such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required).
16. Protection from Malware and Network Misuse
We design the App to avoid introducing malware or engaging in network misuse. The App does not attempt to access or transmit data beyond the permissions and purposes described in this Policy. Keep your device and the App updated to benefit from the latest security improvements.
17. Links to Other Websites and Apps
The App may contain links to third-party websites or open other apps. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Please review their privacy policies separately.
18. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
19. Compliance with Legal Obligations and Law Enforcement
We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of unitytoosapp, our users, or others. Because we do not store personal messaging data on our servers, such disclosures would generally be limited to information held by third-party service providers under their own policies.
20. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
21. Contact Us
