Welcome to the Messages ("App"), developed by Hevin Technoweb Limited ("Company," "We," "Us," or "Our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our App or related services ("Services"). We are committed to transparency in our data practices and to safeguarding your privacy in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), the Brazilian General Data Protection Law ("LGPD"), and Google Play policies. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
This Privacy Policy forms an integral part of our End User License Agreement ("EULA"). Any capitalized terms not defined here shall have the meanings assigned to them in the EULA.
We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve our Services. Below, we detail the types of information we may collect and how we use it.
Device Information
What We Collect: We gather device-related data, including your hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and system settings. This helps us ensure the App runs smoothly on your device and diagnose any technical issues.
How We Use It: This information is used to optimize App performance, deliver personalized experiences, and prevent fraud. We do not use it to identify you personally.
Network and Internet Access
What We Collect: The App requires internet access to enable features like cloud synchronization, analytics reporting, and displaying advertisements. We may collect data on your network connection, such as IP address (anonymized) and data usage patterns.
How We Use It: This allows us to sync your data securely, analyze App usage for improvements, and serve relevant content or ads. All collected data is anonymized to protect your privacy.
Notification Access
What We Collect: The App may access your device's notification settings to send alerts related to messages, such as incoming SMS or scheduled reminders. We do not collect the content of notifications unless it pertains to App functionality.
How We Use It: Notifications keep you informed about important App events. You can manage or disable them in your device settings at any time.
We prioritize the security of your data and store it responsibly.
Local Storage: All data related to your contacts, messages, and App preferences is stored locally on your device. We do not upload or store this sensitive information on external servers, ensuring it remains under your control.
Analytics Data: Any analytics data collected via third-party services (e.g., Firebase) is anonymized and does not include personal identifiers. This data helps us understand App usage trends without linking it to you.
Security Measures: We implement robust security practices, including data encryption in transit and at rest, secure coding standards, and regular security audits. Despite these efforts, no system is entirely immune to risks, so we advise you to use strong device security like passcodes and updates. For more on data protection, refer to Google's privacy resources at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
The App requests specific Android permissions to function effectively. We only request permissions essential for core features and explain their purpose below. You can review and manage these in your device settings.
SMS Access: Permissions such as android.permission.READ_SMS, android.permission.WRITE_SMS, android.permission.SEND_SMS, android.permission.RECEIVE_SMS, android.permission.RECEIVE_MMS, and Telephony.SMS_RECEIVED are required to read, write, send, and receive SMS/MMS messages on your device. This enables the App to access your SMS inbox, send messages or MMS, receive incoming messages/MMS, and confirm delivery reports for sent messages. We do not share SMS content with third parties.
Contacts Access: The permission android.permission.READ_CONTACTS is needed to access your device's contacts. This allows the App to display and manage contact names for easier messaging. We do not store or transmit your contact data to any third parties; it remains local to your device.
Phone State Access: The permission android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE is required to detect phone state details, such as showing a SIM selection option on multi-SIM devices. This ensures seamless operation across different hardware configurations.
Notification Access: The App may use the android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS permission to send notifications related to messages, keeping you updated on App activities.
Wake Lock Permission: The android.permission.WAKE_LOCK permission wakes your device briefly when a message notification arrives, ensuring you don't miss important alerts even if the screen is off.
Schedule Alarm: The android.permission.SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM permission is used for the scheduled message feature, allowing the App to set precise alarms for sending messages at designated times.
Boot Complete: The android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED permission reschedules any pending messages after your device reboots, maintaining functionality without interrupting your experience.
We integrate trusted third-party libraries and SDKs to enhance App functionality. These do not collect personal data unless specified, and we ensure compliance with data protection laws.
Firebase Analytics: We use Firebase (Google's analytics tool) to collect anonymized data on App usage, such as feature engagement and crash reports. This helps us improve performance and fix bugs without identifying you personally. For details, see Firebase's privacy policy at https://firebase.google.com/policies/analytics.
Koin: We incorporate Koin (io.insert-koin:koin-android) for dependency injection, creating singleton classes efficiently. It operates locally and does not collect or transmit data.
Lottie: Lottie (com.airbnb.android:lottie) is used to display smooth animations within the App, enhancing user experience. It is a local library with no data collection.
DataStore: We use DataStore (androidx.datastore:datastore) to manage a small amount of preference data locally on your device, such as App settings. No external transmission occurs.
Glide: Glide (com.github.bumptech.glide:glide) efficiently loads and displays images or media within the App. It caches content locally and does not share data externally.
We retain your data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy.
Local Data: All App data, including messages and contacts, is stored solely on your device. Deleting the App will automatically remove this data. You can also manually delete data via the App's settings or your device's storage management tools.
Third-Party Data: Data collected by third-party services (e.g., Firebase Analytics or Google AdMob) follows their retention policies, which are typically anonymized and aggregated. We do not control these periods but ensure shared data is anonymized. For Firebase retention details, visit https://support.google.com/firebase/answer/6318765. If you request deletion under applicable laws, we will facilitate it where possible.
As of now, the App does not include in-app purchases or subscriptions. However, we may introduce them in the future to unlock premium features. If added, the following terms would apply:
Subscriptions: We may offer plans like monthly or yearly options, with prices varying by country and displayed in the App or Google Play Store. Payments would be processed via your Google Play account, with automatic renewal unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage subscriptions through the App settings or Google Play. Free trials, if offered, would be forfeited upon subscribing.
In-App Purchases: One-time options, such as "Remove Ads" or "Premium Lifetime," would unlock features permanently, with country-specific pricing.
Payment Security: All transactions would be handled by Google Play, compliant with PCI-DSS standards. We would not store your payment details. For more, review Google's payment policies at https://payments.google.com/payments/apis-secure/get_legal_document?ldo=0&ldt=privacynotice.
The App does not use cookies directly, as it is a mobile application. However, third-party services integrated into the App, such as Google AdMob or Firebase Analytics, may employ similar technologies like device identifiers for anonymized analytics or advertising.
You can control these through your device settings or by opting out via Google's ad settings at https://adssettings.google.com. Disabling them may limit features like personalized ads but will not affect core App functionality.
We process your data transparently and only for legitimate purposes. Third-party services are used as follows:
Analytics: Firebase Analytics gathers anonymized usage data to analyze interactions and enhance App features.
Advertising: Google AdMob displays ads based on anonymized data, which may be personalized for relevance.
Behavioral Remarketing: Services like Google Ads may use anonymized data to show related ads on other platforms.
Payment Processing: Google Play handles all purchases securely.
All shared data is anonymized, and processing complies with GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, and Google Play policies. We do not sell your personal data.
