*********CONTEST WINNER UPDATE*******
The fifth person to respond to the current Family History contest was Lisa Lambert. She is now reveling with a 5 lb. bucket of licorice. There is another bucket that will be given out in a drawing on January 26th. Currently there are only 7 people entered so your chance to be a winner is pretty good. If you have forgotten how to enter, look for the signs outside the chapel doors on Sunday.
The purpose of this contest is to get you to explore around in Family Search (familysearch.org). The goal is to email to me (kenegreen@cox.net) your father’s parent’s wedding date, and the Family Search ID for the Grandfather. It will look something like xxxx-xxx, where each x is an alphanumeric character. This is an example of what I need: The fifth person to email me after January 12th, (judged by the timestamp of the email) with the answer wins a 5lb bucket of red licorice. This may sound bizarre, but it gives everyone a chance to look up the information and submit it. Adults and most teens should have a Family Search account – if you don’t, get one, they’re free to church members. Adults and teens are free to help their Primary children by showing them how to access this information and sending me an email with their name on it. And while you’re in there, show them some of the pictures and write-ups in the memories section. Now what if you’re not the fifth one? There is another 5 lb. bucket of licorice being offered. All the entries I receive will be entered in a drawing and the winner of the drawing will be announced in the ward bulletin on January 25th.
