President
Kimberly is a proud Mesquite parent of six years and is excited to begin her second year as PTSO Board President! As the mom of Kaydence (6th grade) and Jameson (5th grade), she stays busy juggling school events, theater activities, sports schedules, and whatever adventure her kids dream up next. A lifelong Gilbert resident, Kimberly attended Islands Elementary, Mesquite Jr. High, and Gilbert High—making her a true Gilbert native who has come full circle by raising her own family in the community she grew up in. She also serves as Vice President of the Theater Board and loves supporting programs that help kids shine both on stage and in the classroom. Passionate about building a strong school community and creating memorable experiences for students.
Vice President
Heather is proud to be a Mesquite mom to Brooke, a 6th grader who loves to sing, and Brady, a 4th grader whose passion for baseball keeps life moving at a fast pace. After six years in the Mesquite community, she is excited to begin her third year on the PTSO Board. Heather also serves as Secretary of the Theater Board, supporting student performers and proving that behind every great show is plenty of planning, emails, and coffee. Professionally, she has spent the past 17 years as a Senior Business Analyst at the University of Phoenix, where she puts her organization and problem-solving skills to good use. Heather loves creating fun experiences for students, supporting teachers, and connecting with families. Between baseball, theater, work, and school events, life stays busy—but she wouldn't have it any other way.
Treasurer
Melanie has proudly been part of the Mesquite community for the past seven years and is the mom of Sofie, a 6th grader, and Archer, a 3rd grader. She is excited to begin her fifth year as PTSO Treasurer, where her superpowers include balancing budgets, organizing spreadsheets, and somehow always knowing where the money went. Outside of PTSO, Melanie works at GoDaddy helping manage the social media team, connecting with people online and making sure the right messages reach the right audience. She loves bringing organization and creativity together and enjoys working alongside the amazing teachers, staff, and families who make Mesquite so special.
Secretary
Carla Winward is a stay-at-home mom with two children who have attended Mesquite Elementary. Her son is starting seventh grade at South Valley Junior High, and her daughter will be entering fifth grade this fall. Carla earned her Elementary Education degree in 2008 and has a passion for supporting children and education. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, staying active, and spending time with her family. Carla looks forward to serving on the PTSO and helping strengthen the connection between families, teachers, and the school communities
Members At Large
Alex and Cheyenne have a second grader, Jason, at Mesquite and are excited to be entering their third year with the PTSO—and their first year serving on the board! Alex is a personal assistant, vintage treasure hunter, and enthusiastic gardener who can usually be found rescuing plants or hunting for the perfect thrifted find. Cheyenne works in broadcast, is a crafting wizard capable of turning almost anything into a masterpiece, and is always planning her next adventure. Together, they bring creativity, organization, and probably a little glitter wherever they go. They’re excited to help continue Mesquite’s tradition of amazing events while supporting the teachers and staff who make our school such a special place.
Member At Large
Eileen has been a proud Mesquite parent since 2009 and has watched all four of her kids make their way through Mesquite. This is her first year serving on the PTSO as our Member at Large, and she's excited to jump in and help wherever she's needed. By day, she's an engineering writer in the aerospace industry, but around here she's just as happy talking science with curious kids as she is lending a hand at school events. Whether she's explaining rocket science or cheering on our Mountain Lions, Eileen is always ready to make learning fun—and thankfully, she promises not to make us do any math!
