Shot blasting covers a very vast area of applications. Coming from an industrial usage down to petty residential workup, this equipment has a lot of potential due to its strong compressive friction and treatment results. Large scale industries: India being a hub of mechanical and engineering industrial growth, some parts always need regular cleaning from corrosion and rust protection. Large equipments like shipping shaft, turbine blade retreatment, different engine parts and heavy materials are frequently cleaned under wheel blasting to avoid chipping of material and protect them against environmental degradation and rusting.
Harsh treatment: Ships are prone to climatic damage by salt ratio and chlorinated compounds. To remove chlorine from their metallic layer, shot blasting becomes apparently a useful tool. From ship decks to mechanical engine parts that need cleansing are often abraded to remove hard stains, corrosion bubbles and oil easily from the surface area.
Soft metal polish: pipe shot blasting machine is a very wonderful cleaning system because it can tactfully treat different materials as per the requirement. For soft matte finish, softer or light gauge materials can be effectively polished using walnut shells or corn cobs. Retreatment of surface for painting: Different blasting media have different qualities to exhibit. Pumice being the softest blast media has nice stripping properties and it will remove paint or polish from old wood without impact on the substrate while steel grits are used for removing surface contaminants from metals providing an excellent adhesion to paints and coatings.
Glass etching: Sand blasting has been very famously used to etch and embed glass to desired looks. Often glass doors and windows have floral attributes and designs that highlight opulence and class. Aluminium oxide is a tough abrasive that has long lasting properties and great etching performance on hard surfaces.
Peening: The automobile industry has a heavy use of steel shot blasting on its components because the compressive force of the blasting media gives extra strength and longlasting protection from environmental changes. The media gives a smooth, cleaning finish and can be recycled upto 3000 times.
We see how shot blasting is relevant in today’s industrial processes, but having found use in even domestic causes, shot blasting is here to stay for long!
