Karenna S. Miller is a professional storyteller (stage name "Storyteller Soror"), specializing in the stories preserved by Brothers Grimm in their 1812 1st Edition Kinder und Hausmärchen or Children's and Household Tales. Her book, 37 Ancient Faery Tales, is based on Oliver Loo's 2014 word-by-word translation. With Mr. Loo's guidance, Karenna converted his academic translation to fluid English, and now returns these tales, and others, to their original oral tradition. She also will customize sessions to deliver tales that match the heritage of an individual client or group audience.
In addition to telling tales, sessions provide audience members with a chance for discussion, and sharing their own stories as well.
As a State-Tested Nurse Aide (STNA), Karenna has seven years' experience in caring for the elderly. Through her one-on-one storytelling sessions, she can become a regular drop-in friend, alleviating worries, and coming as close as you can get to real family.
