We provide in-home speech and language assessment and therapy visits for preschool and school-aged children in the areas of:
Articulation/phonology (speech sounds)
Stuttering
Developmental Language Disorders/Language Delays
Social communication/Social Thinking
Language Assessment
An in-depth assessment of a child's expressive, receptive, and social language skills in order to determine a child’s communication profile, including strengths and needs. This may consist of:
Gathering of child's history, including a conversation and consultation with parent/guardian
Administration of standardized and/or non-standardized measures (e.g., formal tests, parent report, observation through play, etc.)
Recommendation for plan of intervention and goals
Language assessment may take place over multiple visits.
Assessment reports will be provided by request, for an additional fee.
Speech/Articulation Assessment
An in-depth assessment of a child's oral motor mechanism (muscles we use for talking), and articulation and phonological inventory. This may consist of:
Oral-motor assessment
Formal or Informal assessment of speech sounds
Summary of findings and individualized goals and recommendations
Speech and Language Therapy Session
Therapy sessions will take place in your home and may be 30 minutes or one hour in length.
Sessions are structured around child- and family-centered goals that are both functional and evidence-based. Therapy for younger children may be play-based, and goals will be targeted through a variety of activities.
Parent participation in therapy sessions is strongly encouraged!
