Greetings! My name is Johnny Devecka, a student videographer with a passion for visual storytelling. Through collaboration with diverse businesses and nonprofit organizations during my high school years, I have desired to demonstrate my ability to adapt my craft to varying needs and narratives, while expanding my own skills, and reaffirming my belief in the transformative power of visual storytelling.

As a young child, I found myself captivated by the magic of film. I began exploring this fascination through creating home movies using my phone and iMovie, and this initial hands-on experience cultivated an enduring love for cinema. Recognizing my enthusiasm, I decided to build a robust portfolio, further honing my skills through video production classes and masterclasses.

Throughout my journey, I have remained steadfast in my commitment to professional growth, consistently seeking ways to evolve and adapt to new opportunities and challenges. I am currently preparing to further my studies in film production at Pepperdine University, confident that my hands-on experience has adequately equipped me for this next step. 

Looking ahead, I aspire to explore the realm of 3D character animation. The prospect of sculpting a narrative through the performances of digitally-created characters captivates me. As an animation artist, I would be able to breathe life into a variety of unique characters, enabling them to engage in a dialogue with the audience. This capacity to touch hearts and minds through the nuanced acting and storytelling of animation is the essence of my passion for this craft. I envision myself bringing them to life, leveraging the power of animation to offer the fresh perspective of a new character, or to spark conversations in audience members long after they have left the theaters.

My journey thus far has been one of continuous learning and evolution, and I eagerly anticipate what the future holds. As I work towards my aspiration of becoming a Director of Photography (DoP) on major motion picture sets, I am confident that each new project and collaboration will provide a platform for me to further refine my craft and contribute positively to the world of visual storytelling.
