Our aim is to gather researchers working in human-computer interaction (HCI), data visualization, augmented and virtual reality, and computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW) who are interested in multimodal, synchronous, and remote or hybrid forms of communication and collaboration within organizational and educational settings.
The 2nd workshop on "Multimodal Experiences for Remote Communication Around Data Online (MERCADO)" will take place in Vienna, Austria on the afternoon of November 2nd at IEEE VIS 2025, and will be organized by Wolfgang Büschel (University of Stuttgart, Germany), Gabriela Molina Léon (Aarhus University, Denmark), Arnaud Prouzeau (Inria, France), Mahmood Jasim (Louisiana State University, USA), Christophe Hurter (ENAC- Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile, France), Maxime Cordeil (The University Of Queensland, Australia), and Matthew Brehmer (University of Waterloo, Canada).
NII Shonan Meeting #213: "Augmented Multimodal Interaction for Synchronous Presentation, Collaboration, and Education with Remote Audiences" took place at the Shonan Village Center on June 24 - 27, 2024. The first half-day MERCADO workshop took place on October 22 in Melbourne, Australia at IEEE VIS 2023. The NII Shonan meeting and the first MERCADO workshop were organized by Matthew Brehmer (Tableau Research, United States), Maxime Cordeil (The University Of Queensland, Australia), Christophe Hurter (ENAC- Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile, France), and Takayuki Itoh (Ochanomizu University, Japan).
