Mequon Teens Against Covid-19

Delivery suggestions for Drivers: These are suggesting practices from local hospitals. We are trying to stay as close to the CDC guidelines using limited supplies.

  1. There will be a box of supplies stored at someone’s house. This information will be given out by whoever is the coordinator. Get in touch with this person so they know you are coming.

  2. There will be a 2 sets of gloves in a baggie, a pair of safety glasses, and a bottle of spray waiting out for you. Next to this will be two buckets. One to discard the used gloves in and one to put the glasses in. **Try not to scratch the glasses while putting them in the bucket. They will be reused. Your safety glasses should be on the whole time. Do not worry about sun glasses. You can deal with it for a while ☺

  3. Drive to the location you were given for pick up. Sendik's or the pharmacy.

  4. If you are picking up food from Sendik's go through the drive up line and follow the instructions on the sign. Either you call or text to let them know you are there. Get out of the car if there is no one around you. Open the trunk and walk to the front of your car. The Sendik's employee will load the trunk for you. DO NOT HELP THEM OR GET CLOSE TO THEM. Once the items are in the trunk, close the trunk using your elbow. Drive to the person in need's house. *** If you are driving to a pharmacy follow the prompts below, under pharmacy pick up.

  5. Once you are at the house, open the baggie of gloves. Put one set of gloves on, take the other set out and place them somewhere safe, they will be used later. Go to the trunk. Take out the bags or boxes and deliver them to the front stoop. If there is anyone around you do not get close to them. If the owners are outside stay 6’ away from them. Once you are done unloading the bags, head back to your car. Close the trunk with your same elbow as before. Take the gloves off properly (inside out without letting your hands touch the outside of the gloves at any time). Open the door. Put the used gloves in the baggie and close it. Head back to the supply house. Once you are there put the other set of gloves on. Get out of the car. Open the trunk. Use the provided spray to spray down the area where the food was placed earlier. Spray any area that has been touched by either you or the Sendik's employee. Put the spray back where you found it. Take the gloves off first. Discard them in the bucket to the left along with the baggie and the other set of gloves. Remove the glasses. Only touch the sides. Place the glasses in the bucket to the right.

  6. Head home. When you get there take your shoes off outside. Take your outer clothes off in a location away from the family. Throw your clothes in the wash machine. Wash your hand with soap and water for 60 seconds. Take a shower. At some point you will have to use your own method to clean the bottoms of the shoes you wore.

Pharmacy pick up:

Replace Rule #4 from above with:

Drive up to the drive-through window. Tell them the name of the person in need. Tell them you are with Mequon Teens against Covid-19. Open the bag of gloves. Take one set of gloves out and set them in a safe spot. Put one set of gloves on. Take the order. Place the order in a specific area in your vehicle. Take the used gloves and place them in the baggie and close the baggie (remove the gloves inside out with your hands never touching the outsides of the gloves). Drive to the person in need's house.

** After the pharmacy product is delivered using the proper steps. Call the person in need. Let them know you are there. Do not leave the pharmacy supplies without watching the owner pick them up. Stay in your vehicle while waiting.

Do not touch your hands to your face at any time throughout the process. If you have an itch, rub it with the clean area on your shirt.

***For the Person in need: You will need to wash all items that were delivered. There is no guarantee that the products are clean. Please follow all guidelines given by the CDC. Thank you!

For those that have the sterile box of supplies:

Use the spray to spray down both buckets and any other item around the box. Use the product somewhat sparingly. We only have so much.

You will have to wash the glasses as needed. You can wash the glasses in soap and water right in the bucket.

Each time there is a call, a new set of gloves (in baggies) and glasses will need to be set out. I will have all of the gloves that I own in the provided box along with all of the safety glasses I own. Once the gloves get down to two boxes remaining, let me know. I will go shopping. When we start to get low, you may want to start cleaning the gloves. Just in case.

For the driver:

You are volunteers. I have no safe way of giving you money. Your parents may be able to spot you gas money. Especially with as low as the gas prices are.

Your good deed will not go unnoticed!!!

Thank you,

Joe Kelly
