When I was younger, I often had a "rush to the fun part" mentality. Wanting to get to working on the animation or modeling instead of having to fiddle around to get a grasp of the software, I often searched for programs that were easy to use, but still very capable. This is a list of those programs, as well as the programs I learned to use over the course of two to three years.
Samples can be seen down below. All software listed is free, with optional premium or supporter payments.
Blender (pictured) : Blender is a free to use 3D art program made by the Blender Foundation and funded by supporters. It's an extremely capable program, albeit with a lot to learn to utilize it's maximum potential.
Misfit Model 3D : A long since deprecated 3D Modeling program that in my opinion is useful for when you're starting out and get too overwhelmed by Blender's expansive and intertwined feature set.
Blender : As previously stated, Blender has a vast function set. This includes both Modeling and Animation, among other things. Animation in Blender can be tricky to learn the Ins and Outs of, and over all isn't my preferred software.
Microsoft 3D Movie Maker : 3D Movie Maker is by no means a professional piece of software. However it is still very capable. A niche community has formed around it that has made tools and expansions to allow for any kind of animation to be made inside the program.
Source Filmmaker (pictured): Created by Valve Software, and running on their Source Engine, SFM is an animation software that allows for both standard 3D animation, as well as utilizing a game server to create Machinima. It is not a professional software by any means, but still operates similar to one.
Drawio : Drawio is mainly geared towards diagrams, but it's vast set of shape presets, color and style options, and the capability to import images makes it powerful. You can utilize the software for any kind of infographic, collage art, etc. All of it's options are also easy to find within it's sidebars. It also works directly in browser, with incredible compatibility for free.
Keynote : Despite being a simple power point software, Keynote offers an impressive vector graphics system. Using this and the inbuilt transition editor. It can be utilized for references for 3D Models, 2D artwork, and even rudimentary animation. It's a shame that it can only be utilized on Apple devices. As not requiring a license and it's amazing vector system on top of it's easy to use interface makes it leagues better than Microsoft's offerings.
Photopea (Pictured) : Photopea is a free all in one website that can be used as a substitute for the expensive Adobe suite of products. Primarily geared towards editing photos, it offers the same functionality as Photoshop along side some of the Illustrator exclusive features. Further cementing it's capability to replace Adobe's software, you can open Photoshop, Illustrator, and Experience Designer files in Photopea.
