Our Mental Health promotion focused on students under pressure to perform
consistently high on tests and how it impacts their mental health.
Us students behind Mental Mirror Talk attend one of the most competitive and highly ranked high schools in Georgia. This competitive, high-achieving environment has put immense pressure on all students who attend our school to consistently earn high grades on exams in order to stay aligned with the culture of our school. With Mental Mirror Talk, we aim to focus on helping students reduce the intense pressure they feel to perform extremely well on tests and to help students understand that they are more than just a grade on a paper.
Kiara Addison is a graduate student studying Healthcare Management and Youth and Volunteer Coordinator of Pathways2Life and One Johns Creek. On our social media pages, @mentalmirrortalk, we make daily themed posts which are made with the goal to help students feel less alone and learn how they can boost their confidence. We also interview fashion influencers, brand owners and real student athletes on our social media pages.
