STEM combines science, technology, engineering, and math to enhance a student's ability to think like a scientist when approaching a problem. STEM students use the Engineering Design Process to define a problem, brainstorm solutions, research, and design prototypes, test the prototype, and make improvements on their design in search of the best possible results. The capstone projects of high school students at the STEM studies.
For example, students may be asked to select a topic or social problem that interests them, conduct research on the subject maintains a portfolio of findings or results, create a final product demonstrating their learning acquisition or conclusions (prototype, for example), and give an oral presentation on the project to a panel of teachers, experts, and community members who collectively evaluate its quality.
___ Abstract is a brief synopsis of the entire work described in the poster
___ Abstract understandable without reading the entire poster
___ Includes (1) purpose of the study, (2) brief statement of what was done (without including minor details of the methods), (3) concise statement of major findings, and (4) major conclusions
NEED to provide definition of abstract
___ Presents question being explored and how it connects to Egypt’s Grand Challenges
___ Includes precise statement of the hypothesis or problem being addressed by the study
___Summarizes prior solution attempts strengths and weaknesses
___ Includes design requirements for a new solution
___ Briefly describes how team’s solution was chosen and how it meets the design requirements
___ Briefly describe how solution is supported by scientific laws and theories
___ Describes all procedures performed
___ Summary of the test plan for the prototype
___ Brief description of tests conducted and how they address the design requirements
___ Summary of materials lists and/or illustrations
___ Illustrations, tables, figures, photographs or diagrams have unique identification numbers and legends
