I am a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor at the Hitotsubashi Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS), Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo, Japan.  I received my Ph.D. in Economics from Hitotsubashi University.

My research examines how policies, institutions, information, and technology shape educational decisions, opportunities, and human capital development, particularly among disadvantaged populations. Using field experiments, administrative records, and survey data from China, the United States, and India, I study college choice and affirmative action, information frictions, talent identification, teacher labor markets, and educational inequality. I also work on healthcare access and gender disparities in politics.

Alongside my empirical research, I develop AI-based tools to support educational decision-making and learning, including a college-application advising platform and an AI math tutoring platform for primary-school students.
