My research interests are gene-environment interaction and quantitative methodology. Substantively, I am interested in how the social structure fulfills and suppresses the genetic potentials of individuals, and how the interplay varies across time periods, cohorts, gender, and race and ethnicity. I recently published my work on educational attainment showing that individuals from poor backgrounds relied more on genetic potentials to succeed. My dissertation will be looking at the impacts of the gendered society on reaching genetic potentials for girls and boys in STEM careers.
Methodologically, I work on the better usage of genomic and longitudinal data in discovering the gene-environment interaction. I am a Stata (and R) user and an experienced longitudinal data analyst. Currently, I am a beginner in machine learning and am looking forward to implement the techniques in my future journey.
All in all, as a Sociologist, my aim is to leverage the genes to reveal the enormous social forces around us human.
