Isolation source: Deep-sea hydrothermal vent chimney at the Suiyo Seamount (YK19-10)

Taxonomy: a novel genus and species within the family Desulfobulbaceae

Significance: Proteomic analysis revealed that several proteins were uniquely and abundantly present in sulfur-disproportionating cells. These results suggested the unrecognized pathway of sulfur disproportionation in the isolate.
