Menaka Dance Company is passionate about creating authentic, technically sound, and high-quality dance work. Shivani brings her extensive experience with classical Kathak to the performances in the role of a choreographer.
Menaka Dance Company is made up of a group of young dancers united by their passion for dance. The group has freelance, volunteer dancers with previous experience and a degree of training in Kathak dance. Together, they perform for diverse audiences across Yorkshire.

Celebrating Holi - Sheffield Museums
On the occasion of Holi, Menaka Dance perform 'Govinda Damodar Madhaveti'a 15th-century poem written by Saint Bilvamangala, composed to music by Pandit Jasraj. The verses bring out the eternal devotion of the gopis of Vrindavan, the place where Lord Krishna spent his childhood and teenage years. Their devotion manifests in small daily acts as well as in loud, collective celebrations on the eve of Holi.
