Iron Heart of Hope

Who we are

ГО «Залізне Серце Надії» was registered in Ukraine in 2026, EDRPOU 46397667. Iron Heart of Hope is our English working name. Our work grew from direct experience of war, remembrance and waiting for missing loved ones.

Today we develop community-based psychological support, creative workshops, volunteering and a shared Space in Pluzhne. We also care for the Memorial and Garden and develop international contacts. The About and Founders pages explain our activities, governance and current stage of development.

The Memorial and Garden

The Memorial honours fallen defenders and civilians killed in the war. It is also a place of support for families of missing people and people in captivity. An unknown fate does not establish that a person has died or is being held captive.

The base and living shoots

The concrete pillar, mesh and barbed wire evoke the loss of freedom and the pain of war. Green shoots growing through the structure represent life, resilience and hope.

The steel plate and broken heart

The pierced steel plate represents the wounds of war. The broken heart holds several experiences: grief for those who have died, separation, uncertainty and concern for loved ones.

The dove of peace

The chains symbolise captivity and the desire for freedom. The blindfold evokes the uncertainty faced by families whose loved ones’ fate remains unknown. These artistic symbols do not establish any individual’s status. The dove expresses hope for release from captivity, answers about missing people and the return of loved ones.

A place to be together

The Garden of Unbreakable Hope develops around the Memorial through planting, care and community participation. Here people can pray, speak, remain silent and support one another. Remembrance of those who have died is held alongside support for families who continue to wait.
