My childhood revolved around the memories of my Grandma, whom I used to call Didi. I don’t remember where I heard it, but it said that grandparents are our first best friends. That is quite literally true for me. When I sit to think down memory lane, tons of memories pop up in my mind.
I went to school and came back with my Didi. One of my most cherished times of the day was when I talked to her about the minute details of the whole day on the way back home. As a child, sometimes, I used to exaggerate each story to make them more interesting and intriguing. No matter how silly those talks were, Didi used to listen to every bit of them, without fail. Maybe not very consciously, but I realised how important it is to listen to someone. It is an art and may be the first step toward empathy.
