Yale University - PhD Organic Chemistry
University of Michigan - Postdoctoral Fellowship
Patrick grew up in the Philadelphia area and attended West Chester University, initially working towards a BSED in Chemistry / Secondary Education. After getting involved in organic research in Dr. Felix Goodson's laboratory, Patrick switched to just Chemistry, eventually leading to further graduate studies at Yale University. He joined the lab of Prof. Nilay Hazari, conducting extensive studies on palladium precatalysts and their applications towards challenging cross-coupling reactions. After receiving his PhD in 2017, Patrick took up a postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Prof. Melanie Sanford at the University of Michigan where he investigated fluorination methodology using sulfuryl fluoride. In 2019, Patrick joined the Chemistry faculty at Bryn Mawr College as an Assistant Professor.
