Melody Woods Firewise Community earned its first Firewise USA recognition in 2025. To keep it, we have to show that our community kept investing in wildfire prevention over the past 12 months, and the best way we can document that is through your survey responses. If we don't meet our minimum, we won't be able to renew.
The form only takes a few minutes. Tell us about anything you did at your home in 2026 to reduce wildfire risk. Small things count: cleaning gutters, clearing leaves and pine needles, trimming trees, hauling away brush, even time spent on yard work. If you did it, it helps us renew.
Please fill it out by November 14, 2026: https://forms.gle/9GH5jejKpanyrbwV8
Please help us spread the word by reminding your neighbors to fill it out too!
We're also working to expand our Firewise community. Several homes next to our current boundary are already following Firewise principles, and we hope to include them in our 2026 renewal.
SMALL STEPS,
BIG DIFFERENCE
We all have a lot going on during the year, so it can be hard to find time for wildfire prep. But even a few small things here and there can make a big difference. The little steps we take around our homes not only help us individually, but also help make our whole neighborhood safer and better prepared for wildfire.
Clean roofs and gutters
Clear the first 5 feet around the house of anything combustible (such as leaves, pine needles & dead vegetation)
Make sure everyone in the household knows how to receive emergency alerts & where to find evacuation information
We've formed a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to support our goal of making our neighborhood more wildfire-resilient, and it can now accept donations. Please keep us in mind when planning your year-end giving.
We want to know how we can share our updates with you! Fill out this form to share your contact Info and preffered method of contact! This way you won't miss out on any opportunities our community takes part In!
