Welcome
Welcome to Mellie Counselling & Psychotherapy.
I offer a safe, confidential and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.
About Me
Melanie Plesker-Sheerin | Counsellor Therapist | APCP Pre-Accredited.
I am a qualified counsellor therapist with a B.A. (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy, offering a pluralistic, integrative and person-centred approach.
I believe each person is unique, and counselling should be shaped around your individual needs, experiences, and goals. I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.
I work with adults experiencing a range of life challenges, including bereavement, grief, and loss, stress, anxiety, fears, low mood, emotional distress, relationships, self-worth and relating to others. I also have an interest in supporting people affected by cancer, adoption, intimacy and questions around gender and identity.
I offer counselling in person and online.
You don't need to have everything figured out before coming to counselling. Sometimes having the space to talk, be heard and gain a different perspective can be an important first step.
How I Work
I believe counselling is a collaborative process. My approach is pluralistic, integrative and person-centred, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches while keeping your individual needs, experiences and goals at the centre of our work together.
I aim to offer a warm, respectful, and non-judgmental space where you can feel listened to and understood. We can work together to explore what is happening for you, develop greater insight and consider ways of moving forward that feel right for you.
There is no expectation that you have all the answers. Counselling can provide the time and space to pause, reflect and make sense of your experiences at your own pace.

Session & Fees
Sessions are usually 50-60 minutes and are available both in person and online.
Fee: € 75 per session
I usually begin with an initial assessment, which allows us to discuss what brings you to counselling, what you would like support with, and whether working together feels right for you.
I understand that circumstances can sometimes make the standard fee difficult. If this is a concern, please feel welcome to mention it when enquiring, and we can discuss what may be possible.
Location & Contact
I offer counselling in person and online.
In-person sessions are currently available in a private counselling room at a well-established community centre in Sligo.
If you would like to enquire about counselling, please get in touch using the contact details below. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have and discuss whether counselling may be right for you.
