Melkart is a map that features locations based on real old Phoenician settlements. The Phoenicians were an ancient maritime civilization that thrived from approximately 1500 BCE to 300 BCE in the eastern Mediterranean region, primarily in the area corresponding to modern-day Lebanon, Syria, and Israel.
The Melkart Dayz map takes inspiration from these Phoenician settlements and incorporates them into its design and location names. Melkart, also known as Melqart, was a prominent Phoenician deity associated with the city of Tyre, one of the most important Phoenician city-states.
