This is my 30th year as a teacher. I love teaching Kindergarten! I cannot wait to meet my students. I look forward to watching them learn and grow this year.
Directions to connect to our google classroom:
1. Go to classroom.google.com
2. Click go to classroom
3. Type the student’s email: firstnamelastname@hpcsd.org
4. Type their password: hpark and lunch number (their lunch
number is their student ID number from the Parent Portal)
5. Click the + sign in the top right corner and click join class
6. Put in the code: swbjmgp
September 10th is the first day of school. Assignments and information will follow shortly.I hope you had a wonderful summer, and I look forward to watching your child learn and grow this year!
By the end of kindergarten students are able to:
Science
-make observations.
-tell how objects are alike and different.
-predict outcomes.
-draw conclusions.
Reading
-enjoy listening to stories.
-answer who and what questions.
-relate stories to personal experiences.
-have a sense of beginning, middle and end.
-recognize rhyming words. understand the concept of a word.
-understand the concept of a sentence
-point to words when reading.
-read back own sentence.
-recognize own last name.
Math
-count to 100.
-count by 10's & 5's to 100.
-recognize numbers up to 100.
-write random numbers to 100
-generate complex patterns.
-read and interpret simple graphs.
-add and subtract sets of objects within 10.
Writing
-write first and last name.
-write using first, last and medial consonant letters for each word.
-use vowel placeholders in writing.
- have some knowledge of spacing.
-write a complete sentence.
-write a simple story.
Social Studies
-tell first and last name.
-respond appropriately to peer and adult interactions.
-identify safe and unsafe behaviors.
-respect individual differences.
-value the opinions of others.
1. Pretend you are sitting on the rug at school.
2. Make sure you are sitting in one spot.
No moving around!
3. Just like you wouldn’t get up and leave the rug in the classroom,
don’t leave the google meet until it’s time.
4. When you join the Google Meet, say hi and then mute yourself.
That means no one can hear you talk.
Click the raise your hand icon if you want to talk.
5. Follow the conversation.
Remember to click raise your hand and I will tell you to unmute
yourself, so we can hear you talk.
Grading practices will follow a standards-based framework designed to provide direct feedback regarding students’ mastery of course content.
Grading practices and guidelines will align with the outcomes of the course and the State’s learning standards.
As per district policy, attendance will be taken everyday in google classroom. Please answer my daily question under Class Work.
