PhD Work

During my PhD I focused on the design and analysis of open-source haptic devices for educational applications.

I decided to pursue this project for three reasons:

  1. I believe that there is an opportunity to both help in learning and encourage students to pursue STEM topics through educational technology development.
  2. There is evidence that haptics and learning are connected. To further study their relationship, new haptic devices intended for educational applications need to be developed.
  3. Finding ways to impact education through haptics will depend on a diverse community of users and developers (e.g. educators, scientists, engineers) which will benefit from open-source haptic devices that are free to be shared and customized.
