Growing up in an Italian home with parents who immigrated from Italy, cooking and baking were part of my everyday world.  I remember working in la"cantina" night after night where we had our baking room and wine cellar in one from the time I was a little girl up to the moment I left for college.  Not only did her desserts look too good to eat, but they were drool worthy and would leave your taste buds wanting more.  Watching her bake and cover all things in chocolate made me realize I'd like to do the same thing one day.  Something that started as a passion and to bring others joy turned in to a moment of truth in November 2020.  A mentor and colleague of mine whom I valued and regarded with the utmost respect, passed away suddenly, and after a 3 hour zoom memorial that was held for him, I was so inspired and moved that I went live with my website and published myself on Social Media that evening..  He would have told me to go for it, asked me what I was waiting for, and would have mentioned that now is a time like no other.  That was the day Melinda's Sweets & Treats came to life.  

My residential kitchen is located in Carver, MA where I live with my husband and 2 children, Landon and Tyler.  I'm a 5th grade teacher by day and elbows deep in chocolate by night.  I love the hustle and bustle of this busy life, and I love having started a business where my children can watch me learn, grow, and understand the value of hard work, determination, grit, failure, and success.  Thanks for all the love and support, and remember, Everything's Better Covered In Chocolate!
