Updates for a New Edition of Popular Camping Guide by FalconGuides Completed
Author, Melinda Crow completes changes for the guide, to be published by Rowman & Littlefield Publishing later in 2021
Author Melinda Crow announced that her research has been completed for updates to the popular FalconGuide, Camping New Mexico. Throughout the previous year, camping has proven to be one of the few stable segments of the travel industry.
Only the availability of open campgrounds and facilities has kept the industry from experiencing a true surge in occupancy levels.
Crow reports that while restrictions related to COVID-19 delayed research and still remain in place in New Mexico, many sites are available, particularly in the national forest campgrounds. Social distancing practices are still expected in crowded campgrounds and some facilities and amenities may not be available, particularly shared water faucets and trash receptacles.
Campers should expect limited numbers of sites and resources throughout most of 2021, but careful planning makes camping in the state still a valuable travel opportunity.
The updated guidebook, Crow's tenth edition for Falcon, does not yet have a publication date, but it is expected later this year.
The guide follows the fourth edition of Camping Colorado, published in May of 2020. Crow created the camping series for FalconGuides, an imprint of Rowman & Littlefield Publishing, following her work on Rockhounding Texas and The Rockhound's Guide to New Mexico.
About Melinda Crow: Besides her work on the guidebooks, Crow frequently writes about the intricacies of the cruise industry for Cruise Critic. She writes about a variety of topics for News Break and blogs about travel and writing on Medium.
