I am interested in investigating problems arising in biomedicine by using data assimilation techniques. For this purpose, I use both physiology-based mechanistic models and machine learning type of models. The projects that currently use these techniques are grouped under the following themes:

• Estimating, forecasting, and control of human glucose-insulin system based on clinical and patient-collected data

• Phenotyping, inference, and control in hematology-oncology settings

• Understanding hospital-acquired conditions and developing the methodology to avoid these conditions by using clinical and demographic data
