Valkyrian Steel was founded in 2019 by Joshua Russo, Zach Crawford, Dan Ceballos, Jessica Renner, and Michael Coursey. What started as a group of friends throwing together quickly evolved into the first professional axe throwing team.  Based out of Columbus, Ohio, VSATC quickly expanded to include some of the top throwers in the sport. It wasn't long before the idea of team based axe throwing caught on and inspired the creation of several other teams all across the country. Valkyrian Steel is home to many champion axe throwers such as the 2020 Big Axe World Champion Zach Crawford as well as the 2020 IATC World Champion Rander Marquez. Valkyrian Steel were also the 2021 Team Melee World Championships.
