Economics Demystified, with Eric Dodge. McGrawHill Professional. May 2012.
This is a self-study guide or, as I use it, a bare-bones text book for principles of economics that explains concepts concisely and clearly. The focus is on being able to use the basic "tool-kit" of economics, and understand some of the assumptions behind those tools. Since I have begun using it as the main text for my principles of microeconomics and principles of macroeconomics, it has been received so favorably that students make direct mention of how much they like it, especially compared to other textbooks, in their end of course evaluations.

Each of these are course supplements that are practice questions, with explanations. Many, many practice questions. Even though I do not typically use such questions in a small class setting, I remind students that these can be used in a multitude of ways. For example, students can use each of the possible answers to a multiple choice question as a formative assessment: if you are able to fully explain why each statement is correct/incorrect, you actually understand the concept that is being asked.
